Thanksgiving

Photobucket

Mom, Dad, and Johnny came out for Thanksgiving. We had a blast. First 3 days we were crazy busy, shopping and running around, then we had 3 days of relaxation. One day we went out and took pictures, it was about 29 degrees out, and we were not very happy campers; but we kept good spirits and got some cute pictures.
A Christmas cards to come!!

Moving Right Along

Well, that I am, I am working on classes 4 & 5 out of 13. I hope to finish by next summer. :) Lord willing, we will be coming home then. Man, I hope that's His will. :)

Dad's birthday is tomorrow! Big 50! He had a couple parties this weekend, and I had the great privilege of making the video for his party. With the many hours Mom put in, and the hours sitting on the computer we finished his video in about 3 days, and it was a great success!!! Happy birthday Dad!!!! So glad you liked the video. :)

Yesterday I also had the treat of skyping with the whole family at dad's party, it really felt like I was there. It was super fun!

On a basketball note...we won our first season game Friday night! It was a 4 hour drive to Nebraska and back, but it was all worth it for the victory by only 2 points!!! Kent, my assistant coach from last year, and now head coach for Cornerstone, was driving through Iowa on Friday, and planning to stop in Omaha. I told him about our game, which was just a bit further....he came!!! How cool is that!!! It was great to see him!

Jason has been working at Dean Snyder Construction. He got a call from Winnebago last week, went in for an interview, and decided to take it! It will save us about $250 in gas a month!!! He starts that job on the 9th, maybe also getting a part time job at local grocery store, to help make up for lost money at Dean Snyder, as he is working a lot of OT there. :)

Please keep us in your prayers, for a lot of things, God knows what they are, and He knows what we need. So just keep shooting up those prayers, and He will take care of us!

Love you all. :)

It's Been a While

Hey Everyone,
Just thought I'd give you an update. An update about....well not about much. We did get a new car about 3 weeks ago, it's nice. :) Pray for us that we spend our money wisely as we try and pay all our bills on a much smaller paycheck. We have total faith that the Lord will take care of us if we are responsible.
Well, basketball started. 5:30 each morning, I am at the gym. It's tough, but nice cuz the rest of the day is pretty much just chill.
Jason has been working long hours, he's tired, and goes to bed early, but he is still the best! He helps around the house, sometimes helps with dishes, and even packs his own lunch! I love him so much!
I am thoroughly enjoying our time here, and I know Jason is too, he loves this weather...I'm having a hard time adjusting....but I got a new jacket last weekend, and it is warm! Good thing, cuz it is supposed to snow this weekend!!!
We miss you all very much..and we expect visits!
God is good, all the time.

Peace!!

Protein

I know that my car selling was a blessing, and I am grateful for a bike, and living close to work...but I had an unfortunate incident yesterday while riding to work.. I found out the hard way that riding a bike 15+ mph, a white shirt, and signing along, mouth open, to Taylor Swift, is nothing less then a protein filled snack and a poca-dotted shirt.
There were bugs ALL over my clothes, stuck on my face, and in my hair. It was, to say the least, repulsing, and a little embarrassing. EEEKKKK! Bla!

It's Saturday morning and I am doing the usual; at the coffee shop, on facebook, doing devotions, and paying bills. I feel so bless that we can actually pay our bills right now. Thank you Jesus.

I am daily in AWE at the blessings God gives me. It's not just the blessing of being here, it's the way He just works things out, helps me, and answers prayers....even the little ones. I am caught up in His grace and mercy.

I have been reading Daniel, thanks to a facebook status encouragement from DeBran.:) And it is quite a book. Although everyone knows the story of the three men in the fiery furnace, bear with me as I share.
In Daniel 3, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego chose to worship God, and God alone, even to the point of possible death. No matter what, they were not going to worship anything, anyone else. They said in verse 16, "O Nebuchadenezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. BUT even if He doesn't, your Majesty can be sure that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up."
What hits me the most is that they trusted God to the point of death. They believed that God could save them, but they were okay with dieing even if He chose not to save them. Bottom line...They worshiped God...God alone, they trusted Him with their lives.
So, as you know, they were thrown into the fire, three men, a fire so hot that the soilders who threw them in were burnt just from getting so close.
What happen to Shadrah, Meshach, and Abednego? Jesus did come, He came into the fire with them, walked around with them and protected them from every fiery flame, from the intense heat, and from all harmful things. Verse 24 says "But suddenly, as he was watching, Nebuchadnezzar jumped up in amazement and exclaimed to his advisers, 'Didn't we tie up three men and throw them into the furnace?' 'Yes', they said, 'we did indeed, your Majesty.' 'Look!' Nebuchadnezzar shouted. 'I see four men, unbound, walking around in the fire. They aren't even hurt by the flames! And the fourth looks like a divine being!'" Later we read that King Nebuchadnezzar left his gods and idols to bow down and serve the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He was saved because the these three men decided to trust in their Living God...no matter what.

My point...What would happen if we let Jesus walk around in the fires of our lives, instead of trying to do it alone, or complain about everything? What if we trusted Him with everything, no matter what!? What would happen if we voluntarily went into the fire, trusting Him with our all, the whole time?
If, and when we do this, think about the people around us, looking at our lives, our circumstances, or fiery trials....what do they see? Do they see us trusting the Lord...trusting Him so much that they want Him too?
I want to walk in all my fiery trials with the Lord, and I want to trust Him!! I want people to see my life, my trials, my heartaches, and my FAITH. And I want them to also trust and have faith in the God of all Gods, so that they too may walk always with the Lord, even in the firery trials of their lives.

Time in Cali

My time in Cali was rushed, exhausting, and fun. I woke up at 3:30 am my time (1:30 am cali time), arrived in Cali around noon, went to lunch with Mom and Emily, and headed home. That night we had rehearsal for the wedding...by the time we got done with rehearsal and dinner I was pretty much passed out in my food.
Friday we had a girls day at Glen Ivy. Super fun! We relaxed in the pools, did a mud bath, had lunch, and just enjoyed each other.
Saturday was the BIG DAY!!! Morning time was getting ready and running around. Shannon, Lindsay and I arrived at the wedding place around noon, practiced guitar for a while, and then got ready. It was nuts running around, but really fun. The music went well, and Mindy looked beautiful!

It was great to see my parents. They are the BEST!!!

Offical

Photobucket

Well, for me, it is offical-I am an Iowan. Not only do I have an Iowa license, they took my California one, so now I have NO proof that I am a native Californian, unless I wanna bust out my birth certificate, which I don't have!! UGH.
I didn't have to take a test, but I did have to get my eyes checked...I am so used to wearing my glasses that I couldn't read the test without them. Therefore I now have a restricted B license, saying that I have to wear the glasses! Again, UGH!!!! I need contacts!

So now we just have to make it official for Jason and Melvin (the truck) :)...then we are offical as a family. The puppies need no kind of ID really, so they were basically offcial the first time they peed and pooped on Iowa land.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! We are heading to MN to go to Valley Fair, which from what I hear, is amazing! So, I'll see y'all next week. Peace!

Name Plate on my door

Jason started work this week. He said it is much slower than Cali Union work, but I think that's good for him. He's going to blow them away if he ever busts out at Cali speed. :) They work 10 hr days so we haven't really seen a lot of each other the last 4 days. Jason did find a carpool buddy, so I get the car every other day. :)

My work is going well, I love my boss and the people I work with. Basically, I ride my bike to work, go to the office, check email, and start on anything I can basketball related. If I don't have anything to do I just work on school. In case some of you don't know. I am working on my Masters in Sports Management. Apparently the athletic director doesn't really want us labeled as "Graduate Assistants", he let us know this week in a meeting that he wants us to know that we ARE "Assistant Coaches working on our Masters." Ha ha, not much different in your eyes? To us it is....especially because not many people know what a GA is. He made it clear that we are not "gophers", that we are an important part of the program...that made me feel pretty good. :) Not only do we have our own offices, we got name plates today!!!!
Photobucket

Right now work for me is pretty chill. But when season starts it's going to be crazy! I have a lot of responsibilities. A LOT! But this is exactly what I LOVE to do, and where God has called me right now. It's quite an honor.

As much as I miss California, my family, my friends, and my job...I truly believe that this was a great move for Jason and I. We both did have jobs in Cali, but Jason hated his, and now he gets to work in his element and is even making more!!! It is amazing what can happen when you step out of the boat and walk on water. Giving your life to God, and trusting Him is the best thing you can ever do!!! It may be scary, but it's worth it.

A Great Day

Okay, I am feeling so extremely blessed by God! The moving truck showed up this morning, no problems, and the workers even brought furniture upstairs for us for free. (apparently they charge for that) :)....Right as the movers were getting ready to leave I received a call that the cable and Internet guys were coming to set up everything. They were not expected to come until next week. WOW. It just seems like everything is working out great! God is really taking care of us!
So, back to the moving truck, there were no problems for us...but they locked their truck keys in the trailer! So for the next 20-30 minutes after all our furniture was in and ready, Jason and the movers proceeded to try and "break open" the ever-strong lock. It wouldn't budge, no saw, no sledge hammer, no nothing was getting into that lock! They ended up having to saw another piece of the lock part to get through, never actually even denting the lock! Amazing! :)
Anyway! Hope you understood all that! LOL
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Remember God is good. All the time! :)

This Week

Hello World!
It is Wednesday and we are doing great! We ended up not liking the house we were living in so we decided to leave. We had a nice talk with the land lords and got out of it with very little problem. We now are moving into a gorgeous home across the street from a golf course! It's two stories and has appliances included! Pictures to come soon.
Jason had a job interview yesterday at Dean Snyder Construction and got the call this morning that he got the job!!! Everything is working out...God is great!
Now just waiting on the moving truck, and then hopefully getting some compensation for their retarded-ness. Ugh!
Hope all is well with everyone. I am at work right now so I better get going, have to write a strength and conditioning program!!
Love you all!

I trust all is well with you. I pray the Lord is blessing you greatly, giving you peace, and loving on you. He has given me a great peace, and I feel His love daily.

I am beginning my Masters program today, and work Monday. This program can be anywhere from 9 months to 2 years. I am planning on finishing fast, then we'll see what happens after that.

We don't have our things yet, but hope for them next week. If I haven't said so already, we found an amazing little coffee shop right here in Forest City, 2 miles from our house!!! I just had an amazing white mocha...pretty close to "Kristin status"! :)

I will blog next week. I am so glad you are all enjoying this, I have had some great feedback, leave me comments!!!

May the Lord bless you and keep you, may His face shine bright upon you!!!

Hello World

WE HAVE ARRIVED!!!
We arrived in Forest City yesterday about 5:00pm. Immediately we were in a storm, I can't remember the last time I saw rain in California!! It's refreshing. We drove up to our new home and were greeted by the owners. It's a cute little three bedroom with a HUGE basement. There is a garden in the front and a creek in the back. The house sits on probably 2 acres! Needless to say the dogs love it!! There is a cornfield to our left, a corn field out in front and a cornfield to our right! My mom laughed at me when I told her that. The sun rises in our front yard and sets in our backyard.
This town is small, very small. 4500 people and not very much to do. Mason City and Clear Lake are both 30 minutes away, but they have Kholes, Wal Mart, Super Target, and Petco. So that's good.
The coach came over to our house and introduced himself and his wife, and then invited us over for dinner!! We accepted, went over to their beautiful home, and ate burgers, CORN, bbq beans, and pistachio fluff stuff. :)
It's now Friday morning, Jason and I are at the local roastery, I'm drinking coffee, he is drinking chocolate milk, and we're just relaxing as the storm rolls in. I cannot wait to get busy and start work on Monday!!!
We are going to work on getting Internet, phone and cable today. Stay tuned for more updates. Sorry I don't have pics, I'll try and post some tomorrow! Love you and miss you all. Keep praying for us.

Overalls (you'll never know why) :)

"Windows down because of doggie gas.
Jasmine's tongue flapping in the wind.
Mile High Stadium we went past.
Too long in the car without a bend.
Just another road trip task.
I love this trip with my best friend."
-day 3

Today was another BEAUTIFUL day! We continued through the Rocky Mountains and needed to stop for the doggies to play. We found a dirt road, came across a meadow and let the pups just run and jump...at times the grass was so tall we couldn't see them until they leaped up and down!

Heading into Denver we stopped and ate lunch at Wahoos. As we drove back onto the freeway we soon saw the ever famous Mile High Stadium, home of the Denver Broncos!! Just before we past the stadium we both noticed a familiar smell...we both immediately pin-pointed it as roasting coffee, and there to our right sure enough was a coffee roastery!!!

We finally hit Nebraska, and there was a whole lot of CORN and then NOTHING!!! Nothing but beautiful, wide open land, and gorgeous skies!!!! Picture Below!!!
Photobucket

We will be entering Iowa tomorrow. The coach has invited us over for dinner Friday night, and has offered to help us in any way he can!! Work begins Monday!

Love you all! Thanks for your prayers!

Thru the Rockies Tuesday

Photobucket
Yes! I found my coffee roasting shop!!! Got an iced mocha and enjoyed it!!!
Today was a beautiful drive. We started in northern AZ which was hot and full of wonderful desert, but ended up driving through beautiful Colorado and the Rocky Mountains! Driving into Colorado we glanced to our right and saw this amazing river, so we stopped! It was so amazing! (pics on facebook)
Backtracking a bit, as we drove out of AZ we came to the Four Corners were we stood in four states at once...Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah! I was boring, but a must do! :)

Back to Colorado Highlights:
People don't have to wear helmets when on motorcycles!!! It's scary!
The log cabins are amazingly beautiful! I can't even really explain it!
An old couple in passed us on the Rockies in a station wagon!!!
Cutest little towns you ever did see!
Puppies ran/jumped through tall meadow grass like deer!! So cute!!
We saw a drive in movie theater!!! How cool is that! WE really wanted to stop, but it was late.
Stopped in a small town in Colorado, had to sneak dogs in....sorry Lord....and now blogging!

Good Day!!
Keep praying!
WE NEED IT!!!
LOVE YOU ALL!!!!

Out of Gas??

So...I finally cried yesterday morning. It was hard leaving Temecula, it was hard leaving everyone. I pray the Lord gives me more and more peace, and gives me love for my job. I want so much just to go there with my hubby and my puppies, have fun, get my Masters, and come home. I don't want to be sad AT ALL. Lord, please help me with this.

Yesterday was pretty amazing. God is amazing. We started driving about 8am. We passed Cabozon and began looking for a place to stop. Jason saw a sign for service in 20 miles....Come to find out, this was not true. As the line got closer and closer to "E" we both got more and more quite. Soon the line was well below "E" and we were pretty scared. We saw a sign for Blyth, but it was still 23 miles away. We both prayed silently, asking God to push us, or make a gas station appear.
Photobucket
We kept on moving, soon passing the giant sign stating, "State Prison, DO NOT PICK UP HITCHHIKERS." Needless to say, we did not want to break down there for many, many reasons.
So did we make it??
Yes, yes we did. God pushed us, AT LEAST 17 miles, and there was a 76 station. The light had been on for 25 miles, and the needle was pegged out on the bottom. WOW. God is so good!!

We then continued down into Blyth, had lunch and took a few back roads. We decided to make a stop at the RIVER. We stopped at my aunt and uncles place, left a note, took some pics, and let the dogs play in the water. The note read this: "We came, we saw, we peed on your tree. We took a dip, we took some pics, we missed you!"
We continued following the river, went through Parker and Havasu, and headed into AZ.
As we headed into the Grand Canyon area, we began to see TREES and GREEN, lots of them. The GC National Forest is amazing. We arrived just in time for sunset. Driving through the National Park we saw at least 10 Elk...they were beautiful, and were so tame. We pulled off the road and got some pics.
God's creation is so amazing!
Thank you Jesus for that amazing day!!!

Last Night

I now sit in an empty house. Jason is packing up the truck, and we are heading out tomorrow. Today was tough. The morning began with a severe headache and stomach ache for me. I thought is was nerves, then I thought it was the flu, now I am not really sure. The truck was almost 4 hours late, and then we found out the moving company underestimated the cubic feet and we had to pay an extra 500.
The blessing was that it could have been much worse. The movers were super nice guys, and it was almost as if God showed the movers that we needed a favor...and he did do us a favor, he really helped us out. Thank you LORD!
My parents and Mike came over and spent the day with us. We got presents!! It's really great to have great parents!! LOVE YOU GUYS!!!
Emily and her mom showed up about 4-o'clock. We got more presents!! he he. I love my bear sister! He shall be my cuddle buddy!! Love you guys!

Now I sit on the blow up mattress, awaiting the sadness, and excitement of tomorrow morning. Jason and I are truly excited to go, but I personally am a bit scared. I have no idea what to expect, and Cali is all I know. I think the only thing that will get me through, besides the Lord and all His goodness, is knowing I get to see my family at Thanksgiving, and Em is coming for New Years!

Please be praying for us. We love you all!

Thanks for reading.
May the Lord bless you and keep you!!!

Pre-Iowa

Welcome to our BLOG! We hope to keep you involved with our new adventure with the stories, pictures, and words of this blog. Please read, and comment. We love you and will miss you all.

It's August 13th, and we are almost finished packing. We leave in 4 days for our new adventure. Each day that passes I get more excited and more nervous, such a bitter-sweet feeling. Just when I think I don't want to go anymore God reaffirms our decision. This morning on the way home from taking Emily to school the Lord gave me a song, reached inside me, grabbed my heart and said "You are called there!" Here is a verse of the song "Your will above all else, my purpose remains. The art of losing myself in bringing you praise. Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades. Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame. My heart and my soul, I give you control, Consume me from the inside out Lord."
---Hillsong United, From The Inside Out.

What confirmation, again. :) The Lord has confirmed in so many ways, but for some reason this song brought me to my knees and reminded me that this is our new adventure, this is where we are supposed to be.

I will miss all of you so much, and so many of you have expressed how sad you are that we are leaving. But please remember, God's ways are not our ways, His thoughts are not our thoughts, and His way is always perfect! ALWAYS!!!!! He is God Almighty!!!

I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!

Stay tuned for new adventures!
